Together

As a forum, LHIF is constantly working to improve coordination, advocacy, representation and information sharing among its members and with external stakeholders such as the UN, donors, local and national NGOs, and the Government of Lebanon. LHIF also works with its members to develop a unified INGO voice on issues of common concern and provides a platform to facilitate action on joint initiatives.

LHIF coordination and
advocacy activities include

  • Facilitating INGO representation in response leadership fora and with key response stakeholders
  • Enhancing and supporting NGO engagement in response planning and coordination mechanisms
  • Developing common member positions and recommendations on core humanitarian concerns
  • Advocating for greater international support to and solidarity with refugees and the crisis in Lebanon
  • Spearheading and mobilizing INGO participation in joint initiatives to better meet response needs
  • Supporting members to address common operational challenges
  • Holding regular coordination meetings with membership, and with external stakeholders as necessary
  • Mapping member activities and program areas
  • Compiling, drafting and sharing reports and briefings on strategic and priority issues
